Media Advisory and Fave Video of the Week

Two articles of mine go live in the span of two days.

First, an opinion piece “Diversifying books for teens,” inspired by #YesGayYa, will be up on La Bloga Sunday, October 9th.

Then, I have a review of DC Comics’ relaunched Aquaman #1 coming out Monday, October 10th as part of the Comics Project.  It’s hosted by writer Kelly Thompson, of the comics/graphic novel blog 1979semifinalist and 3 Chicks Review Comics.

Meanwhile, I’m querying, tarrying and not yet despairing.

Here’s my favorite video of the week.  #OccupyWallSt.  Social justice and collective action!

Latest La Bloga column – PANIC! in the East Village

My article on Charlie Vazquez’ PANIC! reading series just went up today on La Bloga.  This was a really cool assignment–checking out NYC’s queer poets/writers scene.  The readings were fierce, and the event had the feel of an elbow-to-elbow house party.

Read my article here.  You can find out more about PANIC! and get announcements about upcoming events on their Facebook page.

Alex Sanchez interview on La Bloga

My interview with Young Adult author Alex Sanchez went up on La Bloga today.  Alex’s fresh, matter-of-fact portrayals of American gay teenagers have taken YA LGBT lit into the mainstream and garnered a good heaping of critical praise.  He was also a wonderful guy to interview.  You can check out the article here.
