Werecat Promo Tour

Since Werecat: The Trilogy came out in November, I’ve organized a blog hop of sorts. I wanted to share that there are lots of opportunities to win yourself a freebie as I celebrate this milestone in the series.

First, closing out December 21st, you can enter to win a giveaway of the first installment of the saga The Rearing at Paranormal Cravings #WeresEvent2014.

Just yesterday, the awesome folks at Sinfully Sexy Book Reviews ran a feature on the series and they have a rafflecopter drawing December 18th – 20th for The Rearing as well.

I put together a Goodreads giveaway of an autographed copy of The Trilogy that will run December 22nd – 24th. It’s open to readers in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia and many other places around the globe.

You can enter it here:

Finally, you can snag a copy at The Novel Approach on December 27th when they are doing a feature on the series.

Best of luck. And if you have already bought a copy, you could make this author one happy boy by posting your honest review/rating of the book at Amazon, Goodreads or anywhere you talk about books. 🙂

If you ever wondered what I’m doing when I’m not blogging

I haven’t been posting much lately, and that’s not because this little blog hasn’t been on my mind.

It’s due in part to the fact that I’ve been doing the last round of manuscript-polishing on my follow up to The Seventh Pleiade. I finalized the title and the cover art with my publisher last month. The book shall be: Banished Sons of Poseidon, and it picks up the story from the perspective of a supporting character who has a very big adventure of his own in the world where the survivors of Atlantis take asylum. Some preview material and a cover reveal will be coming shortly. It’s on the production schedule for late 2015!

In nearly equal measure, I’ve been pulled away from posting here while I’ve been hopping around other media in the hope of taking advantage of platforms with a bigger reach than this little-engine-that-could.

In October, I did an interview on BlogTalkRadio’s People You Should Know.

In November, I was over at Queer Sci Fi talking about the release of Werecat: The Trilogy.

This month, I sat down in the ‘Comfy Chair’ at author Elin Gregory’s awesome blog Telling it Like it Was, and I wrote a guest post for the #WeresEvent2014 at Paranormal Cravings.

Later, I’ll be a guest at ARe Café (All Romance e-Books) on December 19th, and I have a feature lined up at Sinfully Sexy Books.

From the time I started this blog—five years ago!—I wanted to respect the fact that there are tons of really good blogs already out there. I knew that I could write about what I’ve learned about the craft of writing, or fantasy and gay fiction specifically, or the little bit of wisdom I’ve gained regarding marketing and the business end of being a writer. But there’s always been a little voice inside me saying: “If it’s not worth someone’s time to read it, don’t write it.” There are a whole lot of people talking about those topics, and most of the time they’re talking about them with a whole lot more insight and panache than I possess.

So, you will still see news about my books when cool stuff happens. You’ll see ‘extras’ about the characters and the worlds of my books, and photos and videos from events I’ve attended. I expect you’ll also see the occasional opinion piece about LGBT portrayals in literature and film, and causes that inspire me, and curious little things about my favorite subjects like ancient worlds, Atlantis and of course cats.

And today, by way of sharing a random, passing obsession, you’ll see Corey Hart.

The Werecat trilogy is out in paperback!

No Comments on The Werecat trilogy is out in paperback!

WerecatTrilogyFinalRETAILCover700x1066pRGB96dpiJust released today: all three installments of the Werecat saga in one fierce, little paperback.

That’s The Rearing, The Glaring and The Fugitive all together for the first time. Here’s a blurb about the story.

Twenty-two-year-old Jacks is on a mission to drown his past in alcohol when he meets the handsome drifter Benoit on a lost weekend in Montréal. It’s lust and possibly something more. Jacks never suspects that a drunken hook-up will plunge him into the hidden, violent world of feline shifters.

Benoit traps him in an arcane ritual to be joined as mates, from which Jacks emerges with fantastical abilities and a connection to Native traditions that were buried by his family. But his new existence pits his human instincts against his wild animal nature. When Jacks meets the young medical student Farzan, who wants to be with Jacks no matter what or who he is, Benoit’s feline jealousy rages like an inferno.

Jacks must figure out how to survive with his dual nature and a boyfriend who will kill any threat to their relationship. When a secret society called The Glaring shows up with a plan to exterminate humankind, Jacks will have to work quickly to gain command of Benoit’s magic before the world shatters into a war of man against beast.

The Werecat saga has been about two years in the making. I’m pleased as heck to see the full story beautifully bound in a print book. Pick it up at Amazon or your favorite retailer.

It’s Release Day: The Fugitive (Werecat, Book 3)!!

WerecatTheFugitiveRETAILCover700x1066p96dpiRGBNow available everywhere: the third installment in the Werecat series The Fugitive.

It’s an e-book so by everywhere, I mean Amazon, B&N, Smashwords, All Romance e-Books and a host of other e-book retailers.

I’m also very excited to announce that all three Werecat installments will be available in one trilogy set, which will be both e-book and paperback. The release date for that is November 15th.

Meanwhile do pick up a copy of The Fugitive if you’ve been following Jacks’ adventure in the world of shifters. Of course, you can catch up on the story by checking out The Rearing (Book 1) and The Glaring (Book 2).

Here’s what you can expect in the newly released story:

On the run after killing a Hunter from The Glaring, Jacks travels to the Bahamas with his only clue to what the secret society wanted from him: his maker’s key to a safety deposit box at an offshore bank. A thirty-day legal procedure holds him up from uncovering what The Glaring was willing to kill him to get.

Meanwhile, Jacks meets an alluring ex-pat from South Africa named Maarten who hosts a nonstop pleasure cruise for disaffected werecats with no interest in the politics of their kind. With his nerves scratched raw from living on the run, it’s too tempting of an escape for Jacks to turn away. But while he’s cruising the Caribbean and spending nights in an orgiastic cuddle pile, The Glaring lays siege to New York City in a night of terror. Jacks’ boyfriend Farzan fights for his life and tries to reach Jacks overseas.

Jacks needs to emerge from a binge of drugs and sex to defend his boyfriend. But can he give up the chance to be with his own kind for the first time in his life? When the secret in the safety deposit box is revealed, Jacks realizes that it’s up to him to get it before The Glaring uses an arcane magic that will destroy humankind.

Special promotion: From November 12th to 20th on The Romance Reviews, sign up for a drawing of a copy of The Rearing (Werecat, Book 1) to get started on the series!

Head over to the Rainbow Awards website for the pre-party Treasure Hunt

2014 Rainbow Awards

Romance author Elisa Rolle is hosting a really fun promotion for readers of LGBT romance.

It’s a contest to match short excerpts with the finalists from the 2014 Rainbow Awards. Each day in November, Elisa is posting anonymous passages from four of the titles. Post your guess at the title as a comment on the blog, and you will be entered for a chance to win that title at the end of the month.

There’s no limit on how many titles you can guess, so you could score a number of books. One of the titles is my own The Seventh Pleiade.

Here’s the link to the contest.

Winners will be drawn at the end of November. The Rainbow Awards themselves will be announced in early December. Cross your fingers for TSP!
